Code Green: Headline earth!
Code Green: Headline earth!
Code Green: Headline Earth! Challenges Grade 8 students to create a one-minute news broadcast-style video that informs and educates viewers about the global issue of climate change. Students will take on the role of news anchors, reporting on the latest climate science, the impact of climate change on the environment and society, and the urgent need for collective action. The broadcast must cover key issues such as rising temperatures, extreme weather events, sea-level rise, and the human activities contributing to global warming. Students will also present solutions, such as renewable energy adoption, sustainable practices, and policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions. This competition encourages students to combine research, communication skills, and creativity to raise awareness about climate change while promoting informed action. Through their news broadcast, students will engage with viewers on how to address the challenges of climate change and the importance of working together for a sustainable future.
