Information on this page is about our Job Shadow Day for guardians and students. Job shadows are done with seniors in the fall and can be a half or a full day of shadowing. Job Shadow Day is set for Oct. 2, 2025
Please keep in mind that it is currently difficult to get into a medical facility, so have another option. This is not a required event, but a valuable experience. Application forms are due to Mrs. Schaefer by Sept. 4th.
The Appointment/Permission form is due to Mrs. Schaefer by Sept. 25th. All students are responsible for their travel to and from the job shadow site. If a student is only doing a half day, they must report to the school for the other half of the day.
WHAT IS JOB SHADOWING?
Students follow around a professional—like a shadow—for part of their work day. During a job shadow, students gain firsthand knowledge of a job and this helps them get a clearer picture of what their future could look like.
WHY JOB SHADOW?
Students can see if a job could be a good fit before making a big commitment. Through a job shadow, students can discover what they like, don’t like, or what they didn’t even know existed! At the end of the day, students learn a little more about themselves and taking steps to shape their future.
