Assessing

DJS pupils are statutorily assessed at the end of Key Stage Two (SATs). Our pupils also take the statutory Multiplication Tables Check towards the end of Year 4.

Our pupils also sit termly Non-Statutory NfER tests as well as part of the school assessment cycle.

In order to assess understanding of completed areas, children take more frequent, low-stakes end of chapter tests. Teachers and teaching assistants at DJS also make ongoing formative assessments of our children during and after lessons

All our assessments are made in order to to enable teachers to plan effectively, enable pupils to make maximum progress in their learning, help all pupils to demonstrate what they know, provide feedback and information to involve parents and pupils.
