Writing

Students have done A LOT in writing so far this year, including:

• Creating a neat example of their individual handwriting for upper and lower case printed letters.

• Beginning to learn cursive by matching print letters to cursive, and practicing the foundational strokes  on white boards and in their handwriting lesson book. 

• Preparing their writing notebook by separating it into vocabulary, drafting, and free write sections. 

• Writing, and defining key reading vocabulary and their synonyms.

• Identifying  and writing compound words, synonyms, and fragment vs. complete sentences. 

• Brainstorming ideas for their personal narratives and choosing their favorite. We will begin drafting this week!
