Always look both ways when crossing, even on one-way streets.
Avoid crossing the road while being distracted, for example, looking at your phone while crossing.
At night, wear bright or reflective clothing, so drivers can see you.
Always walk on the sidewalk; if there isn't one, avoid walking on the road.
🚴 For Cyclists:
Always wear a helmet and protective gear.
Use lights at night when there's low visibility.
Stay on bike lanes if available; otherwise, just keep to the side of the road.
Signal with your hand when turning or stopping, so drivers know your moves.
Follow the same traffic rules as other vehicles.
Emergency Tips!
Stay Calm & Safe First: Move yourself to safety if possible and avoid standing in traffic.
Call for Help Immediately: Contact the PNTL (112) or local police for accidents, and call an ambulance if needed.
Give Basic First Aid: If someone is injured, stop bleeding with clean cloths and keep the person still until help arrives.
Do Not Move Seriously Injured Victims: Unless there is fire or danger, wait for professionals to avoid causing more harm.
Have an Emergency Kit: Carry a small first aid kit, flashlight, and water in your car or motorbike.
Emergency Contacts: Always have family or emergency numbers saved in your phone.
When crossing the road, you must:
Use Pedestrian Crossings: Always cross at zebra crossings, traffic lights, or pedestrian bridges when available.
Stop Before the Curb: Pause and look around before stepping onto the road.
Look Both Ways: Look left, right, then left again to make sure no vehicles are coming.
Make Eye Contact: Check that drivers see you and are slowing down before crossing.
