General driving rules
Drivers must not drive so slowly that they unjustifiably slow down other drivers.
Drivers must adjust speed to road, vehicle, weather, and traffic conditions.
Speeds must be especially moderate when near crossings, schools, hospitals, built-up areas, steep slopes, curves, tunnels, and poor road conditions.
Regarding Drug Influence
Driving under the influence of drugs is prohibited.
Having a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) above 0.5 g/l
What is BAC?
BAC or Blood Alcohol Concentration is used to measure how much alcohol is in someone's body. It is expressed in grams of alcohol per liter of blood (g/l)
Penalties include:
$12-$60 fine for BAC above 0.5g/l but below 0.8g/l
$24-$120 fine for 0.8g/l-1.4g/l
$36-$180 fine ≥ 1.2 g/l or under the influence of narcotics
Pedestrians.
Pedestrians must walk on pavements, tracks, or road edges; they may only use the road when crossing or if pavements don't exist.
Organized groups/processions must use white light (front) and red light (rear) when moving at night.
Regarding Light signals
When traveling in areas with low visibility, sound signals can be replaced with light signals under these circumstances:
a) In places that are already bright, you should only use intermittently (not all the time).
b) If in another case, you may switch headlights between full beam and dipped beam as needed, but you must never dazzle or blind other drivers.
Use headlights at night in built-up areas, not sirens or other sounds.
By breaking the rule or simply not following the rule, you'll be fined US $6 to US $30.
Motorcycles, Mopeds, Bicycles.
riders must not remove their hands from the handlebars (except when signaling, feet from paddles/footholds, or be towed.
Stunts are strictly prohibited, and your vehicle may be impounded.
Bicycles must ride close to the edge or pavement.
Children under 7 cannot be transported on motorcycles or mopeds.
No passengers allowed on bicycles when driving on roads.
Carrying objects that impair driving or endanger safety is prohibited.
Motorcycles and mopeds must always use lights.
Bicycles must use appropriate lighting at night; if the lights fail, the bicycle must be hand-pushed.
Vehicles & Equipment
All vehicles (except two/three-wheelers) must carry a warning triangle.
A warning triangle must be used when a vehicle is stopped or a load has fallen on the road, visible from at least 100 m.
Vehicle repairs on public roads are prohibited unless essential to move the vehicle
Trailers: only one trailer may be coupled per motor vehicle; trailers may not transport passengers.
Vehicle lights must always be functional
Offenses are classified as minor, serious, or very serious.
Serious offenses include: speeding, ignoring traffic signs, wrong-way driving, and failing to yield to pedestrians.
Very serious offenses include driving under alcohol/drugs, reckless driving, and ignoring police orders.
Penalties include fines, driving bans (from 1 month to 2 years), and vehicle seizure.
Recidivism leads to doubled penalties.
