Agriculture is the study or science of planting and raising animals. In the 1800s, it was necessary to grow and raise your own food to live. Some people would sell there products at markets, would trade there products, or have it to feed there children. But with all of this, did boarding schools do the same? Did they have agriculture to teach them the white mans ways, or did they do it to grow the schools own food?
Teachers were trying to help and teach the students how to farm there way. The natives new how to raise and grow there own plants, just not the way we quite do it. They wanted them to become better citizens and grow there education.
