DiDi/99 will offer free transportation to women who are victims of domestic violence in the capital of São Paulo and Greater São Paulo. The agreement signed between DiDi/99 and the State Government will initially last for one year and provides transportation to the Women's Defense Police Station (DDM), and other government facilities to assist victims, depending on each case.
Women who call 190 (police phone number) reporting violence are assisted by the Cabine Lilás, which has a specialized team made up of female military police officers. From now on, during the assistance, victims in non-emergency situations (in emergency cases, assistance will continue to be provided by the Military Police's vehicles) will have access to free transportation by DiDi/99, which will be requested directly by the Military Police attendants (who will also monitor the trip).
In this way, DiDi/99 will now act in a complementary manner to support the transportation of women who are not in emergencies, but who need to go to a police station, for example.
“DiDi/99 has a long-term commitment to fighting gender-based violence, and this partnership with the Public Security forces reinforces this mission. We are building a safer environment, where everyone can feel protected, welcomed, and respected,” says Tatiana Scatena, Director of Security of DiDi/99.
The agreement between DiDi/99 and the Secretariat of Public Security and the Secretariat of Policies for Women was published in the State Official Gazette on January 30.
