What is a Washington State Hazmat Materials Endorsement?
This endorsement is needed in the event you are carrying in your load or your load includes cargo which can cause harm to the driver or others whom may come in contact with contact with the flame, air, water, or other harmful chemicals. When carrying a hazardous materials load which can be defined as poisons, gas, waste or radioactive materials.
There are Four Types of Hazardous Materials:
Ignitability - Waste that is flammable which can create fires.
Corrosivity - Waste (similar to acids and bases) that is capable of rust and/or decompose and has the ability to melt through steel materials.
Reactivity - Waste that is explosive and/or unstable under normal conditions.
Toxicity - Waste or a substance when ingested or absorbed can be fatal and harmful.
What is the Cost or Tuition?
The general cost for Tuition for Standalone Hazmat is $500, where as if its included with Class A or B it will cost $350.
