Table II: Sample Training Program
The table below shows a sample training program for CDRA taken from an actual training conducted by the DHSUD. Take note that this program is not fixed and can be revised according to the needs, available data, and/or capacity of the LGUs or users.
PLACEHOLDER FOR THE PROGRAM
Inform LGUs that they need a GIS mapper present in the activity. Laptops should also have GIS (preferably ArcGIS or QGIS) or its specs capable of processing GIS related software.
Inform LGUs to bring their own data (e.g. shapefiles, CBMS, Sectoral Studies, hazard maps) and preliminary CDRA outputs, if available
Sample data sets will be used, unless the LGU has its own data. In using sample data sets, specially if using data from a different LGU, ensure to provide a presentation on the backgrounder about the LGU as well as local context in order for the participants to effectively answer the workshops.
The process will be more on completing the Excel Tables required for CDRA.
Climate Change Vulnerability Assessment was tweaked using the AR5 framework.
Conduct recap and synthesis sessions every day. Ensure that the participants are on par with the training pace, otherwise give them ample time to catch up.
Have LGUs present their outputs and the resource persons provide comments.
Make printouts of tables and matrices, as well as the scoring parameters.
Color tables fields used for estimating risks and vulnerabilities.
Prepare raffle bowl with the names of the LGUs for different sessions of the training (for reporting during workshop activities).
Ensure to provide breaks in between lectures, as well as "ice breaker" activities during either the preliminary activities or after lunch to ensure you participants are attentive and ready for lectures or workshops.
In special cases, Regional Offices will support DHSUD-ELUPDB (and vice-versa) in the conduct the training sessions/workshops.
