Our Mission
At ALP-NC, our mission is to empower individuals from diverse backgrounds to become effective leader advocates. We believe that by sharing our stories, working together, and learning from each other, we can create a more just and inclusive world. Our program connects people from across the state who are committed to disability advocacy and justice.
Program Definitions
Program Definitions
Sessions: Virtual meetings with all Leaders to learn and discuss content. The Program is made up of four (4) Sessions.
Learning Teams: Small groups that will meet three (3) times between sessions A, B, C, and D. Each group will have one (1) Facilitator.
ALP Leader: The individual participants taking part in the ALP-NC Program.
ALP Facilitator: Someone who helps guide the group through learning and discussion.

Applications are due by 9:00 am on Monday, August 10th. All applicants will receive an email on Monday, August 17th, letting them know if they have been selected.
Details
The 2026 ALP-NC Leader Cohort 2 lasts 9 weeks, meeting virtually every Friday from September 11 - November 6.
Each Session will meet from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm (one 30-min break and two 10-min breaks) every other week on Zoom.
Each Learning Team Meeting will meet from 12 pm to 1 pm every other week on Zoom.
Once Leaders are selected, calendar invites and Zoom links will be sent.

Attendance and active participation are important components of this program. ALP-NC graduates highlight the impact of discussion and activities in their feedback to us.
