YELCAST is the recipient of the 2023 Dangal ng Batangan Award for Culture and Arts (Batangas Artist Award for Visual Arts).

A distinguished participant in the Interwoven Paths: Philippines and Morocco Art and Culture Residency Program, YELCAST is one of the pioneering Asian artists to exhibit at the prestigious Abla Ababou Galerie in Rabat, Morocco. 

He represented the Philippines in the XIV Florence Biennale (2023) in Italy. YELCAST’s artwork has graced prestigious venues around the world, including the Carrousel Du Louve in Paris, France; Malaysia; Thailand; Italy; Belgium; and Germany.

A former top-ranked registered electrical engineer, he decided to become a full-time artist, earning multiple accolades, including a first place in the On The Spot National Pastel Competition and a three-time semifinalist at the Metrobank National Painting Competition.

As the founder of VisualPoetry Philippines, Arte Bauan and Project ArtCanSya, Yelcast pioneers a unique genre that blends calligraphy with poetic elements to create inspiring visual narratives called VisualPoetry.
