Home-Supervised Learning
Home Supervised Learning programming will consist of both synchronous and asynchronous learning activities.
Synchronous learning is defined as two-way, real-time, live, instruction between teachers and students, through the computer, or other electronic devices.
Asynchronous learning is a curricular experience where students engage in the learning materials on their own time, interacting intermittently with the teacher via the computer or other electronic devices.
Home-Supervised Learning Overview
Teachers will teach Home-Supervised Learning students from a professional learning space within their homes.
In this virtual setting, teachers will provide instruction, learning resources, and support through software platforms Schoology Learning Management System, Zoom Meeting Space, and ClassLink.
Parents will support their students to ensure they have access to a device, a place to work, and are engaged in virtual learning activities.
Students enrolled in Home-Supervised Learning will be assigned a virtual class schedule and must be available for live, synchronous instruction during each school day.
Home-Supervised Learning Attendance Policy
Teachers will record attendance daily for online instruction. Per TEA guidance, there are three ways schools will account for student attendance. Attendance can be collected each day when students:
Log into the online Learning Management System (Schoology),
Touch base with teacher, OR
Submit an assignment
