Academic challenges are a normal part of learning. Even more important is recognizing you are struggling and getting help.
These are the types of academic help available this year:
After School tutoring through ASES
Classroom support offered by teachers; students must communicate they're struggling and ask their teacher/s for help
Students that are interested in taking advanced electives must complete the prerequisite and criteria listed in the Advanced Course Placement Guidelines.

No, school counseling is not considered therapy. School counseling focuses on supporting the entire student body with career, academic, and social/emotional issues in K-12 education through Psychoeducation. They focus on schoolwide prevention and intervention programming working with all partners in the school community: parents/guardians, teachers, administrators, and the community.
Honors courses are courses designed for students that are ready for academic higher-level material delivered at faster pace.
Intervention courses may be offered to students who demonstrate a basic understanding of core content material but need targeted intervention beyond that which occurs in core instruction. Students in strategic interventions need an “extra scoop of instruction”.
The following Honors and Intervention Placement Criteria is used. Please make an appointment with a counselor if you have any questions about honors/intervention placement.
