Course Description
The student will explore the techniques and styles of acrylic, oil and water color painting. Students will develop paintings from sketches of landscapes, imaginary concepts, still life, and models. The students will learn more about color schemes and uses. A study of painting development and styles will supplement studio work.

Grading Policy
Grading Criteria for each assignment will be listed under the assignment in Google Classroom.
All assignments including practice assignments will be graded equally.
Students are expected to do their best work and will be graded according to their own abilities and how much they have improved their skills.
All projects need to be turned in by the due date. If the class needs more time, time will be given and the due date will be adjusted accordingly.
Students will be allowed to bring their projects and tools home to work with if the students decide they are falling behind.
Students will be expected to finish all assignments, however, modifications can be made if a student has a prolonged excused absence due to illness. A vacation is not considered an illness.
Late work will not be penalized if you have been using class time to the best of your abilities, or have added a considerable amount of detail. Otherwise, assignments will be expected to be uploaded to Google Classroom by the due date. Upload the project even if you are not finished.
All projects can be reworked and adjusted, or added to and submitted for a better grade. If you are not happy with the grade that you received, you may rework any project for a better grade.

Expectations
Passes - Students must have a pass to leave the classroom, 1 student per pass, must turn in your phone before you leave the room.
Food - No Food in the Art Room
Hats & Hoods - Students may wear hats in class, faces must be fully visible
Dress Code - We will follow the school dress code
Cell Phones/Personal Electronics - Will be put away during class in your backpacks, too many distractions if it is in your pocket or on the table.
Laptops - Bring your laptop with you to Art Class, memorize your Google Classroom Login password, make sure it is charged, or bring your cord.
Class Jobs - All students are responsible for helping everyone keep the room clean and organized, tools cleaned, and Paint area clean.
Extra Help
I am available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 7:30 AM. Also, I can be available during Study Hall, and during Lunch Recess with prior permission..
