SCHOOL DISCIPLINE
Instilling discipline among students is a fundamental mission of San Bartolome High School. Government regulations mandate every school to uphold discipline and establish strict compliance with disciplinary rules. Individuals found failing to adhere to these regulations may undergo interventions as outlined in the Student Handbook. The Committee on Discipline, led by the Principal, includes the Department Head, Adviser, Year Level Coordinator, and Guidance Counselor, working collectively to enforce and manage disciplinary measures within the school.
MINOR OFFENSES
Non-conformity with the code of Appearance such as nonwearing and/or misuse of ID, attachment of sticker and other decoration, improper use, or non-use of piescribed uniform; sporting inappropriate haircut/hair style (hairdying, spiky hair with gel.)
Uttering indecent/obscene language.
Petty quarrels not resulting to physical harm.
Disruption in class/ disorder outside class.
Tardiness
Unauthorized absence/s
Lending or borrowing ID's
Use of electronic device such as walkman, game boy, iPad, cell phone etc. during class hours.
Littering/improper waste disposal
Loitering, staying in prohibited areas such as fields, activity center, back of buildings, building of other year level.
Bullying, shouting, playing in a disruptive behavior along the corridors and stairway.
MAJOR OFFENSES
Cheating in any examination, including direct or indirect involvement in examination leakages.
Stealing, which involves the unauthorized taking of another person's property.
Vandalism, defined as the willful destruction or defacement of school property.
Substance abuse, encompassing smoking, gambling, or drinking alcoholic beverages.
Possession of deadly weapons, including carrying or concealing such items.
Hazing in any form or manner, whether inside or outside the school premises.
Joining unauthorized organizations without proper approval.
Engaging in immorality or sexual harassment.
Brawling, or fighting inside or outside the school.
Gross misconduct, involving disrespect towards school authorities or personnel.
Forgery or tampering with school records.
Extortion, which includes coercing or obtaining something through force or threats.
Possession and/or use of illegal drugs.
Publishing or circulating false information about the school, faculty members, or students.
Unauthorized use of technology, such as accessing prohibited websites or unauthorized cell phone use.
Abusive or offensive behavior, including threats or assault upon teachers, students, and other school personnel.
Dishonesty, such as the misuse of class funds.
DUE PROCESS
The school upholds the principle of due process when addressing violations. In the event that a student is found to have breached a school policy or regulation, the following standards will be observed to safeguard the student's right to due process:
Students will be provided with written or verbal notification of the nature and cause of any charges against them.
Students have the right to respond to the charges brought against them. Additionally, the office informs the parents/guardian regarding the offense.
Students will be informed of the evidence presented against them, and they have the right to provide reasoning or submit counterevidence on their behalf.
The evidence will be duly considered by the Committee on Discipline.
The Guidance Counselor will submit a report of the deliberation and recommendation to the Principal for the final decision.
