(Bringing Abundance and Outreach for the Needy )
Project BAON, initiated by the Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) of Sepung Calzada Panampunan Elementary School, has been successfully implemented for three consecutive years. The project, anchored on DepEd’s core value Maka-Tao, promotes Pagbibigayan or the spirit of sharing by encouraging students, teachers, and parents to donate extra snacks and school supplies for learners in need.
Through this initiative, SELG officers—guided by teachers—collect donations and distribute them to identified beneficiaries. Class advisers provide a list of students who often struggle to bring food to school, leading to frequent absences. Only those included in this list are eligible to receive support from the Project BAON collection, ensuring fairness and proper assistance.
Beyond sharing snacks and school supplies, Project BAON continues to grow as a symbol of compassion and unity within the school. The SELG officers, driven by their desire to serve, will take the lead in outreach activities with the Child Protection Program (CPP) to reach more learners who need care and support. They will also lend a helping hand in the school’s feeding program, assisting in the distribution of meals to their fellow students.
Recognized at both the division and regional levels as one of the Best Learner-Led Programs, Project BAON has proven its positive impact on attendance, well-being, and school unity. With its success, it is now proposed for district-wide implementation in Central B, to extend its reach and inspire more schools to cultivate compassion, generosity, and care within their communities.
