(Praise and Reverence through Artistic and Youthful Worship)
Project PRAY (Praise and Reverence through Artistic and Youthful Worship) is a spiritual initiative of the Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) of Sepung Calzada Panampunan Elementary School. It aims to strengthen the Maka-Diyos core value of the Department of Education by promoting faith, gratitude, and unity among learners through simple yet meaningful worship activities.
All learners of SCPES are the expected participants, as the school community shares a common faith background. The project includes two main activities: a short worship dance or artistic performance as an energizer during the flag ceremony, and an ecumenical prayer every Friday at 3:00 p.m. These activities provide students with moments to reflect, give thanks, and strengthen their connection with God.
Project PRAY remains inclusive and fair, as it uses ecumenical prayers and universal songs that respect all religious beliefs. The worship dance and weekly prayer are short, well-timed activities that do not interrupt academic tasks but instead enrich the school’s spiritual atmosphere. Through this initiative, the SELG hopes to nurture not only academic excellence but also the spiritual well-being and moral character of every SCPES learner.
The Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) proposes the Living Rosary activity under the Project PRAY, to strengthen the spiritual foundation of Catholic learners and promote unity through prayer. In this activity, students will form a human rosary, symbolizing faith, devotion, and togetherness in honoring the Blessed Virgin Mary. By actively participating in the rosary prayer, learners are encouraged to reflect on the values of faith, peace, and compassion, fostering a deeper sense of spirituality within the school community.
