ABSTRACT

This study examined the ICT skills of teachers in Cluster 5, Santo Tomas District, as they adapt to the challenges of teaching and learning in the new normal brought about by the global pandemic. The research sought to identify the necessary skills and competencies that enable teachers to navigate the new educational landscape effectively and create meaningful learning experiences for their students. A descriptive research design was employed, with 26 teachers as respondents. Data were collected through a self-made questionnaire and analyzed using frequency, percentage, and mean. The findings reveal that most teachers in the study fall within the age range of 31-40, predominantly female, holding the position of Teacher III, with a service length of 6-10 years. Although many teachers have acquired master’s degree units, their knowledge of ICT is below average, indicating a need for improvement in this area. The challenges encountered by teachers include a lack of mastery in preparing PowerPoint presentations and the need for technical assistance. Moreover, the study highlights the limited exposure to training and technical assistance related to ICT for both online and offline platforms. These findings underscore the importance of providing teachers with professional development opportunities.
