ABSTRACT

This study examined the effect of using leaflets as supplementary learning material in the teaching of Grade 10 Animal Production–Ruminants Majors through an intervention project dubbed “SHELL” or Supplementing High-Quality Education through Learning Leaflets. Designed leaflets drawn from the modules of the subject Animal Production were utilized by students selected through random sampling. Results revealed that the use of learning leaflets in the experimental group has a large impact on enhancing the level of competence of Grade 10 TVE-Animal Production learners. This finding was evident in the post-test results of the learners. Thus, it can only be concluded that learning leaflets are effective in improving scores for written and practical tasks related to the specific learning competencies in Animal Production. Consequently, the use of learning leaflets in teaching other subjects was recommended following the result of the study.
