Modular Distance Learning and Pupils’ Academic Performance in the New Normal Education: Basis for the Development of an Intervention Program

ABSTRACT


This descriptive correlational study aimed to provide an intervention program on the Quality, Usability and Effectiveness of Modula Distance Learning. The findings revealed that Teachers Teaching Experience was dominated by 10 years below with teaching position of teacher I. For the parents, majority of them are in the age bracket of 31-50, self-employed which came from nuclear family. Teachers and Parents describe the MDL as very good. Pupils performed well in their academic performance in the new normal education using the Modular Distance learning as their teaching modality. Moreover, teachers and parents’ profile are significantly related to the quality, usability and effectiveness of modular distance learning in the new normal education. Based on the result of the study, it is recommended to adapt the intervention program particularly the Project NIXON and Project GC, t for the policy maker, as they craft and implement the Self Learning Module and Learning Activity sheet, it is suggested to be made with accuracy and precision as to its answer key and questions; for the parents continuous checkup and support on guiding their children; teachers is recommended to also introduce other ways/strategies and techniques to their learner in catering the demand of Modular Distance Learning, Finally for the future researchers they must find out and search/study challenges and opportunities as to the implementation of modular distance learning.
