Mary Jane T. Tabago, Teacher III, Echague East Central School
ABSTRACT
The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of REACH (Rediscover, Engage and Apply Concepts at Home) as a strategy for enhancing the skills in identifying material changes, whether beneficial or harmful to one’s environment of the Grade 4 pupils of Echague East Central School. One Group Pre-test and Post-test Experimental Research Design was used with 30 Grade 4 pupils employing the universal technique. The mean, standard deviation, paired samples t-test, and Eta-squared revealed that their skills in identifying changes in materials, whether beneficial or harmful to one's environment, significantly improved through the use of the intervention as it displayed significant difference. It is then recommended that this intervention should also be sustained and shared with other teachers.
