ABSTRACT

The study determined the effectiveness of the Design Thinking Model (DTM) in improving students’ performance in Physical Science on reflection and refraction of light among Grade 12 ABM students at Tumauini Stand-Alone Senior High School. Pre-test and post-test control group design was utilized in the study participated by forty (40) Grade 12 students of the Academic track- Accountancy, Business and Management (ABM) strand during the School Year 2021-2022. Results revealed improved test scores after using DTM. Data showed that DTM significantly and moderately affects the performance in Physical Science of Grade 12 ABM students (t=6.274, p=0.00001, Cohen’s D=0.476). The findings recommend applying DTM in teaching Physical Science. Moreover, to increase its effect size further, modifications and improvements in implementation can be made.
