COINS (COntextualized INstructional Materials) In Teaching Research to the Grade 12 Students of Malalinta National High School

ABSTRACT


The study aimed to improve the research writing proficiency of the Grade 12 students of Malalinta National High School. The research design utilized in this study is the One Group Pre and Posttest with 38 students as respondents. The study revealed that the grade 12 students have poor writing proficiency in Research before utilizing contextualized instructional materials and improved after the intervention’s utilization. Moreover, the result exhibits a significant difference between the pre-assessment and post assessment mean scores of the respondents after the intervention, meaning COINS is effective. Furthermore, this research study revealed that the contextualized instructional materials have a large effect on teaching Research. Therefore, it is recommended that the result of the study will serve as the basis for a plan of action to remedy the least mastered competencies in Practical Research 2 and other learning areas, and further studies are conducted for the reliability of results.
