Leonard A. Gelacio, Teacher III, Cordon South Central School

ABSTRACT

This action research focused on Paired Game-Based Activity’s effectiveness in improving performance on basic operations on integers. Specifically, it determined the mean pre-test and post-test scores, the significant difference between the scores, and Paired Game-Based Activity effect size. This study employed One group pre-test posttest research design. Total enumeration was utilized, including all the 32 learners of Grade 6-Gumamela as respondents. The statistical tools used were the Mean, Standard Deviation, Paired Samples T-Test, and Eta Squared. Based on the analysis, there was a significant difference between the students’ pre-test and post-test scores. The intervention had a large effect on the respondents’ test scores, and there was an improvement in the performance of the Grade 6 Gumamela students. From the findings and conclusion, the researcher recommends using the intervention material in teaching operations on integers, developing other game-based activities, and conducting similar studies to improve performance.
