Level of ICT Integration in the Teaching of Grade 6 Pupils of Quezon District

Elizabeth B. Bueno, Public Schools District Supervisory, Quezon District

ABSTRACT

Twenty-first century education is primarily characterized by the application of information and communication technology. Akin to this, the study purposely described the teachers’ profile, assessed the teachers’ level of practice in integrating ICT in their lesson, and determined the relationship between ICT integration and teachers’ profile variables. Respondents came from three big schools in Quezon District, namely: Quezon Central School, Minagbag Elementary School, and Barucboc Elementary School comprised of eleven Grade 6 teachers and fifty Grade 6 pupils and were selected through purposive sampling. Data were gathered through a questionnaire validated by the Division Research Committee. Findings revealed that teachers have a keen desire of using and integrating ICT in their classes. Likewise, multiple regression analysis indicated that teachers’ profile such as length of service and number of ICT training has a significant relationship to teacher’s ICT level of practice. Hence, the researcher recommends that more training on ICT will be offered to teachers and that ICT be integrated into classroom teaching. Further study will be made by future researchers with wider scope and depth.
