Kindergarten Education and the Performance of Grade 1 Pupils in Echague West District

ABSTRACT


The study ascertained the impact of Kindergarten curriculum in the performance of Grade 1 Pupils in Echague West District. The research respondents were the 318 kindergarten pupils during the SY 2016-2017 and same pupils in SY 2017-2018 in the ten (10) schools of Echague West District. It used a descriptive – correlational design where results revealed that there was improvement of performance between the kindergarten in ECCD Checklist at the beginning of school year and the end of school year. However, overall results indicated average delay in the performance of Kindergarten pupils. In addition, the findings of the study showed that kindergarten curriculum has no significant to the performance of Grade 1 pupils. Based on the drawn results, it is recommended that Kindergarten implementation should be be improved and further studies be conducted for reliability of results.
