Mental Health Webinar Session: Amplifying Resilience Amidst COVID-19 


In line with the efforts to address the pandemic problem of COVID-19, we are also aware that the mental of people is also an area of concern most especially those people who are serving as frontliner, our personnel and learners that has been separated from their families and love ones. Relative thereto, the School Health Section of the School Governance and Operations Division of SDO Cabuyao through the School Mental Health Program hosted a webinar session on Mental Health entitled “Amplifying Resilience Amidst COVID-19” on April 8, 2020 at 2:00PM using the Zoom Mobile or PC application.  


This webinar is an effort to discuss the different ways on how we will maintain our Mental Health while dealing the COVID-19 pandemic disease. The webinar’s facilitator is no other than Sir Michael Girard R. Alba, OIC-Chief of Field Technical Assistance Division, DepEd Region IV-CALABARZON, a registered psychometrician & mental health advocate.  Division personnel, School Heads and School Health Programs Coordinators are highly encouraged to attend the activity. Nonetheless, it is open for all DepEd Teaching and Non-Teaching personnel. Everybody was enjoined to share the knowledge that will be gathered in this activity. The webinar session started at 9:30am of July 22, 2020. The host played different mental health related videos and clips while waiting for the participants. At exactly 10:00am, the webinar session with the opening program. The host discussed first some webinar rules and regulations to follow. Nurse Rommel A. Delingon checked the attendance of participants. After, a welcome remark was given by the SGOD chief Sir Jose Charlie S. Aloquin. A short message likewise was given by CID Chief Ma’am Edna F. Hemedez. The host after gave the different statements of purpose of the conduct of the webinar session. After, the host introduced the resource speaker.  Ma’am Noralle Collada, the resource speaker delivered the almost 2 hours of talk pertaining to the topic of coping with the challenges and stress brought about by the new normal. 


The discussion has been fruitful and gained the interests of the participants. The speaker focused on the importance of mental health and how are we going to cope up with the present situation brough about by the pandemic. She even discussed self-care tips and when to ask for professional advice. A question and answer portion were conducted as well to answer queries from the participants. Ma’am Arvie Rubio, a registered guidance counselor gave the statement of challenge and in return accepted by Sir Jordan Ani, guidance of Soutville I ES in behalf of the participants. A closing message was delivered by the medical officer III of the School Health Dr. Donna Jean Aninon. A closing prayer was given by Sir Philip Cruz, EPS of Values.
