Integrity, Excellence and Service to Paombongeños: SRNHS in the Past 38 Years
San Roque National High School, an acknowledged standard secondary school in the vinegar-producing town of Paombong
Has served the municipality and its people since 1988, standing as a quiet but steady witness to the changing needs and growing aspirations of the community that surrounds it. It was the initiative of former vice-mayor Manuela T. Gonzales and the efforts of several public servants that have made the institution as it is today, a school built not out of convenience but out of a genuine belief that every young Roquenian deserved a place to learn close to home. Across nearly four decades of continuous service, this school has produced its share of midlevel professionals, skilled workers, dynamic entrepreneurs, and compliant youth, each one carrying forward, in their own way, the values first planted within these gates.

Situated at Barangay San Roque, at the back of Paombong Central School and a stone's throw from the Barangay Hall, San Roque National High School is the most accessible among the four secondary schools of Paombong, a location that has made it a natural gathering point for families across the municipality who seek quality education without having to travel far. It is also the biggest in student populace and number of personnel, a distinction that speaks not only to its size but to the level of trust the community continues to place in it, generation after generation, family after family. Notable among its achievements are, its continuous improvement in National Achievement Test and Regional Achievement Test results, athletic, cultural and academic feats, distinctions as National Drug Education Program (NDEP) hall-of-famer winner and National English Proficiency Program – Mentoring Program pilot school.
From the administration of Mr. Roquito E. Patricio, then Mrs. Josefina M. San Juan, followed by Mrs. Victoria C. Mapilisan, Mrs. Marissa D. Hermogenes, Mr. Roberto A. Cristobal, Mrs. Teresa P. Garcia, Mrs. Loida G. Rillera and Mr. Ronald E. Panganiban III, the thrusts of upgrading facilities and uplifting instructions have not waned. A milieu of camaraderie and teamwork has always been the spirit set among the school’s stake-holders. The DepEd Vision and Mission prioritizes the socio-economic profile of its clientele- the youth who belong to the lower class and marginalized sector of the society.
The vision and mission of the DepEd puts emphasis on the socio-economic profile of its clients, whose identity is specifically defined as the youth belonging to the lower and marginal sectors of the society. The San Roque National High School integrates this mandate into its functioning when designing its programs and services, which serve the real needs of families of its students. Being aware of the vital importance of realizing this responsibility, the school realizes that, for many learners, the campus is not only a place where they are taking classes but where they can feel the impact of certain opportunities they would not find anywhere else.
It is worth saying that since its inception in 1988, San Roque National High School has gone through the succession of seven school directors and was trusted by innumerable families, not to mention the belief of the whole community that always had a strong faith in the future of this school. Therefore, as new generations are coming to San Roque National High School, it will continue successfully performing the same functions that were outlined by the founders of the school.
