HISTORY
HISTORY
San Roque High School, an acknowledged standard secondary school in the vinegar – producing town of Paombong, has served the municipality and its people since 1988. It was the initiative of former vice-mayor Manuela T. Gonzales and the efforts of several public servants that have made the institution as it is today. At 33 years, this school has produced its share of midlevel professions, skilled workers, dynamic entrepreneurs and compliant youth.
Situated at barangay San Roque at the back of Paombong Central School and a stone’s throw from the Barangay hall, San Roque National High School is the most accessible among the four secondary schools of Paombong. It is also the biggest in student populace and number of personnel.
Notable among its achievements are, its continuous improvement in National Achievement Test and Regional Achievement Test results, athletic, cultural and academic feats, distinctions as National Drug Education Program (NDEP) hall-of-famer winner and National English Proficiency Program – Mentoring Program pilot school.
From the administration of Mr. Roquito E. Patricio, then Mrs. Josefina M. San Juan, followed by Mrs. Victoria C. Mapilisan, Mrs. Marissa D. Hermogenes, Mr. Roberto A. Cristobal, Mrs. Teresa P. Garcia, and currently Mrs. Loida G. Rillera, the thrusts of upgrading facilities and uplifting instructions have not waned. A milieu of camaraderie and teamwork has always been the spirit set among the school’s stake-holders. The DepEd Vision and Mission prioritizes the socio-economic profile of its clientele- the youth who belong to the lower class and marginalized sector of the society.
Indeed, San Roque National High School has come a long way after 33 years of humble service to the people of Paombong, and it will continue to serve the generations to come with a sustained fire of commitment.

OUR MANDATE
The Department of Education was established through the Education Decree of 1863 as the Superior Commission of Primary Instruction under a Chairman. The Education agency underwent many reorganization efforts in the 20th century in order to better define its purpose vis a vis the changing administrations and charters. The present day Department of Education was eventually mandated through Republic Act 9155, otherwise known as the Governance of Basic Education act of 2001 which establishes the mandate of this agency.
The Department of Education (DepEd) formulates, implements, and coordinates policies, plans, programs and projects in the areas of formal and non-formal basic education. It supervises all elementary and secondary education institutions, including alternative learning systems, both public and private; and provides for the establishment and maintenance of a complete, adequate, and integrated system of basic education relevant to the goals of national development.
