School-Based Feeding Program

The program aims to address hunger, contribute to nutritional status, improve school performance and learning outcomes, and increase the cognitive function and academic performance of the learners.

The program complies with the Republic Act No. 11037, otherwise known as the “Masustansyang Pagkain para sa Batang Pilipino Act”.

The law was signed by President Rodrigo Duterte on June 20, 2018.

Under SBFP, nutritious food products and pasteurized or sterilized milk are given to undernourished learners. Included in the list of primary SBFP beneficiaries are incoming kindergarten learners and Grades 1 to 6 under the wasted and severely wasted category in the nutritional status report.

Narrative Report on SBFP S.Y. 2021-2022

The SBFP of Indang East Elementary School started last February 16 to March 14 for the school year 2021-2022. The said program was participated by IEES teachers for the preparation and distribution and the parents and guardians who get the feeding from the school. The total number of beneficiaries are 87 students from kindergarten to Grade 6. Since we are still in this pandemic, those who enter the school premises who claim the feeding followed all the safety protocols being implemented. A schedule was prepared so that they will automatically come to school for the distribution. Liquidation of funds was done by the disbursing officer, the school head, the SBFP coordinator, inspectorate team and the other teachers. Said program was very effective because most if not all severely wasted children became normal. It also enhanced the bonding of the school to the community and the parents.
