In relation to the Division Memorandum no. 75 s. 2019, the office organized a SLAC session with three main objectives: (1) to orient the teachers about the parts of an action research or basic research, (2) to craft a research title and compose research questions relevant to it, (3) to encourage teachers to make an action research as a tool for addressing school-setting challenges. The session, conducted last July 19, 2019, started at 1:00 in the afternoon having Mrs. Edline Rose V. Cura as the emcee. The school invited Mrs. Odes Miradora-Dagong as the speaker for the said topic. She is a high school teacher in Jose F. Diaz Memorial National High School.
On July 19, 2019, Gulod Malaya Elemtary School conducted the first part of the SLAC session on the Roll-out on the Teaching Beginning Reading at exactly 2:00 in the afternoon which was attended by the teachers from kinder to grade three in the grade one room. The SLAC session begun with a prayer led by Miss Rosalinda Casiano, a welcome remarks given by the OIC Mrs. Vilma G. Cabungan, and a roll call headed by Miss Geralene Bonifacio.
The Process were discussed by Mrs. Joenaliza Aretano, Ms. Angelica Dela Cruz and Ms. Aldrina Chris Olanka. The main objective of this session was to impart the strategies on how to teach reading for beginners and non-readers. The following topics were discussed on the first day of the session.
On July 04, 2019, The Filipino and English Coordinators conducted a SLAC session on the Administration of the Revised Philippine Informal Reading Inventory (PHIL-IRI) English and Filipino at exactly 1:00 in the afternoon which was attended by the teachers in the Principal’s Office. The SLAC session begun with a prayer led by Miss Retchel Ann Mamades, a welcome remarks was given by the OIC Mrs. Vilma G. Cabungan, and an energizer headed by Miss Glory Mae C. Jaravata.
The Orientation Proper was discussed by Mrs. Edline Rose V. Cura, English Coordinator. The gist of this session was the method on how to conduct the GST and other important matters about the topic. She explained a brief background about the PHIL-IRI.
To fully understand the new Philippine Informal Reading Inventory (PHIL-IRI)
Gulod Malaya ES had its SLAC Session on this last July 5, 2018. This primarily aims to help teachers deepen their full knowledge on how to conduct Phil-Iri and help pupils at risk to really find their comfortable reading level. And on July 16 both Filipino and English teachers had its full tie-up making the pupils of Gulod Malaya a well verse reader.
Quality education can only be achieved through competent and updated teachers. In line with this, last June 28, 2018 with the able and dynamic principal of our school Dr. Marlon S. Marquez, spearheaded the School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) among us 39 teachers. This aims to: familiarize / orient teachers on the teacher observation guide for instructional competence to enhance and updated teachers in their everyday teaching.
Teachers were oriented on how to provide activities to the learners.
