LEARNING ACTION CELL

In line with the implementation of Republic Act No. 10533, or the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013, the Department of Education (DepEd) issues the enclosed policy on The Learning Action Cell (LAC) as a K to 12 Basic Education Program School-Based Continuing Professional Development Strategy for the Improvement of Teaching and Learning. Through this policy, the DepEd's commitment to the development of teachers potential aimed towards their sucess in profession. This can be done through the school-based LAC, which primarily functions as a professional learning community for teachers that will help them improve practice and learner achievement.

In compliance with the policy , the Values Education Department conducted several Learning Action Cell (LAC) sessions aimed at improving the quality of teaching and learning. These sessions served as a collaborative platform for teachers to share best practices, discuss challenges, and explore innovative strategies in delivering values-based education.

Last September 12, 2025, at exactly 2:30 in the afternoon, the Values Education Department facilitated a Learning Action Cell (LAC) session for Non-Values Education teachers who are also handling Values Education classes. The session, titled “Teaching Beyond Knowledge: Values Integration in Multidisciplinary Learning,” focused on recognizing the significance of values integration across various subject areas, exploring diverse teaching strategies, and reflecting on practical classroom applications

Adapting Values Education Lessons for the Needs of Every Learner

On February 26, 2026, a Learning Action Cell (LAC) session entitled “Adapting Values Education Lessons for the Needs of Every Learner” was conducted to enhance teachers’ strategies in delivering Values Education lessons that address the diverse needs and learning styles of students. The activity was proposed by Ma’am Cristy B. Abrigonda, who emphasized the importance of making Values Education lessons inclusive and meaningful for all learners. The discussion was facilitated by Sir Jaime B. Martinez, who shared practical strategies such as differentiated instruction, contextualized activities, and interactive approaches that teachers can use to adapt lessons for diverse learners.

Artificial Intelligence-Supported Instructional Strategies: Implementation for Improved Teaching and Learning

On March 05, 2026, a Learning Action Cell (LAC) session entitled “Artificial Intelligence-Supported Instructional Strategies: Implementation for Improved Teaching and Learning” was conducted to enhance teachers’ knowledge and skills in integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into classroom instruction. discussion by sharing their ideas and experiences in using technology in teaching. The session encouraged collaboration among teachers in exploring ways to integrate AI in their respective subjects to make lessons more interactive and responsive to learners’ needs.

Last March 06, 2026, a Learning Action Cell (LAC) session entitled “Enhancing Education Through Artificial Intelligence Application: Innovative Approaches to Teaching and Learning” was conducted by the Values Education and Araling Panlipunan Department to strengthen teachers’ knowledge and skills in integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into classroom instruction.The activity was proposed and discussed by Ma’am Girlie A. Bautista together with Ma’am Rebecca A. Bautista, Head Teacher I in Araling Panlipunan as one of the LAC Leaders. The speakers presented the ChatGPT , Canva, Gemini AI and Curipod as innovative approaches on how AI can be utilized in teaching to improve lesson delivery, develop engaging instructional materials, and support diverse learning needs of students

LAC OUTPUTS

The Values Education/Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao (VE/EsP) Department teachers actively applied the knowledge and skills gained from the Learning Action Cell (LAC) sessions in their classroom instruction. This also serve as their outputs on the LAC session.
