What do you want to be when you grow up?” The question I usually asked my students. And definitely, the question that all children seem to hear.
Children today still dream of being a “grown-up” and doing incredible things. In connection with this, Baclaran Elementary School Unit II conducted a Kindergarten Career Day. This activity aims to strengthen students to pursue the profession they want when they grow-up. It also aims to improve the expressive domain of the students as they talked about their dream jobs.
During the said day, the kindergarten students came to school wearing the outfit/costume of their dream job. Each child was given a chance to speak in front of the class and explained the reason for choosing their dream job. They also explained what their chosen profession does. During the group works, they had the opportunity to role-play. They created scenes where they act according to their clothes. This activity gave them a chance to let them expressed their thoughts and ideas with their classmates.
In gratitude for the cooperation shown by the children and parents in the activity, the teacher chose a child with the best costume and with the best explanation. The chosen one received an award from the adviser.
The kindergarten teachers hope that this activity will bring good thoughts to children in reaching their future dreams.
Every year the whole nation celebrates and disseminates information on proper and good nutrition to the students. During the fruit salad making, the advisers invited parents to help the kids while making the salad. The students also brought their favorite fruits and describe it in front of their classmates.
The said activities do not only focus on informing them the importance of eating healthy foods and the benefits of exercise. It also aims to improve the different skills of the students such as gross motor skill, fine motor skill, cognitive skill, and socio-emotional skill.
March 22, Friday –Balaran Elementary School Unit II kindergarten classes held its “Moving-Up Ceremony” with the theme “Pagkakaisa sa Pagkakaibaiba: Kalidad na Edukasyon para sa Lahat”.

We observe Buwan ng Wika Pambansa every month of August and to commemorate the day of Manuel L. Quezon as Ama ng Wikang Pambansa (Father of National Language). The BES Unit II kindergarten family was blessed due to the presence of HYATT City of Dreams- Manila. For the first time, the kindergarten had a separate celebration of Buwan ng Wika sponsored by the family of HYATT City of Dreams- Manila.
The day was filled with different engaging activities prepared by the staff of HYATT City of Dreams- Manila. One of the highlights of the day was the storytelling that thought them the proper way of cleaning and taking care of themselves.
Another highlight of the day was the presentation of the kindergarten students. Each class presented a traditional dance that entertained the staff of HYATT City of Dreams- Manila. Everyone was astounded as they watched their schoolmates’ performances. It is the pride of the kindergarten students and teachers to invigorate the rich cultural heritage of the Filipinos through katutubong sayaw.
After playing various games, the family of HYATT also gave delicious foods to students and teachers.
On the other hand, the HYATT City of Dreams- Manila staff was touched by the gratitude shown by teachers and students of Baclaran Elementary School Unit II.
Thank you HYATT City of Dreams- Manila!
A child must know the importance of caring for their teeth as early as possible. That is why the Baclaran Elementary School Unit II was very pleased when the dentist of the barangay visited the school. Each kindergarten section was given time to go to the school gymnasium.
This is so that the dentist can check the child's teeth one by one. The dentist shared and demonstrated dental care methods. She explained foods that could damage teeth. She taught the proper way to brush the teeth. She showed what's can be found inside a dental kit. Then she allowed children to asked questions at the end of the demonstration. The dentist also handed out toothbrushes and toothpaste that made the children smiling. After that, the dentist took the children to the washing station to let them brush their teeth.
With the help of kindergarten teachers and the school's nurse, the dentist's visit to the school went smoothly. As she visited the school, the children understood now the importance of dental care. They also learned that there is no need to be afraid of the dentist at all. The school is looking forward to her next visit. Thanks a lot.
