In an exemplary display of youth leadership and community engagement, the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangay Baculod, Hinundayan, Southern Leyte successfully organized and implemented the "Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas Program." This youth-led initiative aimed at promoting cleanliness and hygiene synchronously nationwide and was launched on January 6, 2024. The activity, which was in accordance with the Department of the Interior and Local Government's memorandum circular no. 2024-001, was led by SK Chairman Hon. Jerome Ligas Tagole and witnessed the active involvement of SK members.

The program's focal point was Baculod Elementary School, where SK Chairman Hon. Jerome Ligas Tagole, alongside Vice President Christian Francis Sumbeling-Baculod Youth Development Organization (BAYODO), and SK Members: Aivan Mark B. Eno, May-An P. Tagole, Jhona P. Golocino, Juliet C. Capones, Mark Anthony Eno, Direck A. Terante, Jayboy T. De La Pena, Hannie Grace M. Abad, Jerwin T. Tolibas, Stephanie G. Maupoy, and Ailen M. Gesulga, orchestrated a series of activities aimed at fostering a cleaner and healthier environment.

The SK Chairman, in coordination with the school head Eric M. Nunez, had already informed Baculod Elementary School about the program, ensuring a seamless integration of efforts. On the assigned date, January 6, 2024, all SK members gathered at Baculod Elementary School with a shared commitment to making a difference.

Under the leadership of SK Chairman Hon. Jerome Ligas Tagole, the program kicked off with an emphasis on the significance of cleanliness and hygiene. The SK members actively engaged with the community, conducting a community cleanup demonstrating proper waste disposal techniques.

The impact of the Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas Program was evident as community members committed themselves to the cause. The cleanup efforts resulted in a visibly cleaner environment, projecting a sense of pride and responsibility among all participants. 

With the successful completion of the program, the SK Chairman, Hon. Jerome Ligas Tagole, expressed his gratitude to the SK members and the community for their unwavering support. He highlighted that the program's objectives were met, fostering a deeper sense of civic responsibility among everyone involved.
