Welcome to the Personal Development Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) Module.
The hand is one of the most symbolized part of the human body. It is often used to depict skill, action and purpose. Through our hands we may learn, create and accomplish. Hence, the hand in this learning resource signifies that you as a learner is capable and empowered to successfully achieve the relevant competencies and skills at your own pace and time. Your academic success lies in your own hands!
This module was designed to provide you with fun and meaningful opportunities for guided and independent learning at your own pace and time. You will be enabled to process the contents of the learning resource while being an active learner.
Content Standards:
The learners demonstrate an understanding of himself/herself during middle and late adolescence
Performance Standards:
The learners shall be able to... conduct self-exploration and simple disclosure
Learning Competencies:
Explain that knowing oneself can make a person accept his/her strengths and limitations and dealing with others better
Share his/her unique characteristics, habits, and experiences
Content Standards:
The learners demonstrate an understanding of the various aspects of holistic development: physiological, cognitive, psychological, spiritual, and social development
Performance Standards:
The learners shall be able to illustrate the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a person’s holistic development
Learning Competencies:
Evaluate his/her own thoughts, feelings, and behaviors
Show the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in actual life situations
Content Standards:
The learners demonstrate an understanding of the skills and tasks and challenges appropriate for middle and late adolescence, and preparatory to early adulthood
Performance Standards:
The learners shall be able to make a list of ways to become responsible adolescents prepared for adult life and manage the demands of teen years
Learning Competencies:
Discuss developmental tasks and challenges being experienced during adolescence
Evaluate one’s development through the help of significant people around him/her ( peers, parents, siblings, friends, teachers, community leaders)
Identify ways that help one become capable and responsible adolescent prepared for adult life
Content Standards:
The learners demonstrate an understanding of the concepts about mental health and wellbeing particularly stress and coping strategies in middle and late adolescence
Performance Standards:
The learners shall be able to identify his/her own vulnerabilities and plan on how to stay mentally healthy while coping with stress
Learning Competencies:
Identify ways that help one become capable and responsible adolescent prepared for adult life
Discuss understanding of mental health and psychological well-being to identify ways to cope with stress during adolescence
Content Standards:
The learners demonstrate an understanding of the concepts about mental health and wellbeing particularly stress and coping strategies in middle and late adolescence
Performance Standards:
The learners shall be able to identify his/her own vulnerabilities and plan on how to stay mentally healthy while coping with stress
Learning Competencies:
Identify causes and effects of stress in one’s life
Demonstrate personal ways to cope with stress and maintain mental health
Content Standards:
The learners demonstrate an understanding of the brain parts, its processes and functions
Performance Standards:
The learners shall be able to identify ways to improve brain functions which will be manifested in thoughts, behavior and feelings
Learning Competencies:
Discuss that understanding the different parts of the brain, processes and functions may help in improving thoughts, behavior and feelings.
Explore ways on how to improve brain functions for personal development
Content Standards:
The learners demonstrate an understanding of the brain parts, its processes and functions
Performance Standards:
The learners shall be able to identify ways to improve brain functions which will be manifested in thoughts, behavior and feelings
Learning Competencies:
Develop a personal plan to enhance brain functions
Discuss that understanding the intensity and differentiation of emotions may help in communicating emotional expressions
Content Standards:
The learners demonstrate an understanding of the different types of emotions and how they are expressed
Performance Standards:
The learners shall be able to identify ways to communicate and manage emotions in a healthy manner
Learning Competencies:
Explore one’s positive and negative emotions and how one expresses or hides them
Demonstrate and create ways to manage various emotions
