Values in Action: “Shaping Hearts, Guiding Minds.”
The Department of Education (DepEd) Career Guidance Program (CGP) is a mandatory initiative in Philippine schools to help students explore choices, make informed career decisions, and prepare for future paths like higher education, employment, entrepreneurship, or middle-level skills. Anchored in Republic Act 10533 and further supported by Republic Act 11206, the CGP uses activities such as career assessments, advocacy, consultation, and counseling, and integrates career education into the curriculum to guide learners from elementary to senior high school.
Key Objectives:
Informed Career Decisions:
To equip learners with the knowledge and skills to make educated choices about their career paths and senior high school tracks.
Holistic Development:
To provide support for learners' overall development by helping them plan for higher education, employment, entrepreneurship, or middle-level skills.
Labor Market Awareness:
To expose learners to relevant labor markets and prepare them for employment or further studies.
