The school has its humble beginning in June 2016 as the first Senior High school in General Trias Cavite, through the joint effort of Schools Division office-Cavite province and the local government of General Trias headed by Congressman Luis A. Ferrer IV, Honorable City Mayor Antonio A. Ferrer and the Sangguniang Bayan, with the assistance of Dr. Prudencio M. Animas who was then the Principal of Governor Ferrer Memorial National High School, Complying to the requirement of Department of Education about the implementation of the K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum in the Philippines. Named after Saint Francis of Assisi, the Municipality of San Francisco de Malabon was established on December 13, 1748. The name Malabon is believed to have originated from "Labong" (bamboo shoot) or "mayabong" (luxuriant), referring to the lush vegetation in the area. The former is considered more likely as General Trias, also known as Labong, frequently used the word in his writings and conversations. Continue reading.
The Department of Education was established through the Education Decree of 1863 as the Superior Commission of Primary Instruction under a Chairman. The Education agency underwent many reorganization efforts in the 20th century in order to better define its purpose vis a vis the changing administrations and charters. The present day Department of Education was eventually mandated through Republic Act 9155, otherwise known as the Governance of Basic Education act of 2001 which establishes the mandate of this agency.
