MALACAÑANG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL MAP
MALACAÑANG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL started its operation in the school year 1964-1965. It was formerly integrated with Malacañang Community School under the leadership of Mr. Antonio Agbuya. According to Jose T. Bautista, (former Barangay Captain), the school started its operation because of the One Thousand Pesos (P1,000.00) donated by former President Ferdinand Marcos.
Then, it was named as MALACAÑANG VILLAGE SCHOOL during the School Year 1969-1970 until 1973.
The high school was renamed to MALACAÑANG BARANGAY SCHOOL after the Martial Law (1973). The school on its first operation had 36 students in the first year and 16 in the second year. On its second year of operation, all levels were completed. It was then that elementary grade teachers were utilized to teach in the secondary. They were Mrs. Emma Perez (formerly Ms. Emma Mamaradlo), Miss Alicia Aquino, Mr. Andress Santos, Mrs. Narcisa Baun, Mrs. Aurora Manzon (formerly Miss Aurora De Vera), Mrs. Amy Cayabyab (formerly Miss Amy De Guzman), Mrs Letecia Cabuang (formerly Miss Letecia Ping-ay), Miss Rufina Agbuya, and Mrs. Edna Bautista (formerly Miss Edna Paningbatan).
There were only twelve students – ten boys and 2 girls who graduated on its first Graduation Rites and gradually increased as the year passed.
Three administrators spearheaded the school until 1988; they were Mr. Antonio Agbuya, Mrs. Lourdes Frias and Mrs. Valeria Prado.
In the year 1988, under Executive Order 189, all barangay high schools were nationalized, and the school was named MALACAÑANG NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL. It was the time when the elementary and secondary administrators were separated, respectively. The high school was been administered by Mr. Manuel M. Tulagan, the Teacher in Charge and was then promoted as Head Teacher III in 2001. Additional teachers were appointed to teach in the secondary. There were only five full time secondary school teachers (1988-1992), two full time teachers had been added in the year 1993 and another one in the year 2001, for a total of 9 teachers including the Head Teacher.
In the year 2010, under the administration of Mr. Manuel Tulagan, the City Government (Resuello Administration) through the Barangay Council headed by Brgy. Captain Jorge B. De Guzman donated a parcel of lot with an area of 3617.2 square meters. Since then, the school continues improving in all aspects, i.e. instruction, school buildings, facilities, curriculum, community linkages, and students’ performance.
On June 08, 2011, the first principal of Malacañang National High School was installed in the person of Mrs. Milagros S. Dangat. She was the administrator until she was promoted and assigned at Pangalangan NHS in the year 2014. The school had also been administered by Mr. Francisco G. Junio, Jr, 2014-2016, Ms. Marjorie Mondero 2016-2018, and Mr. Mario M. Barti, Jr. 2018-2019, respectively.
Mrs. Evangeline P. Liwanag, assumed the office of the school head from 2019 until September 2021 because of untimely demise. Mrs. Jeanie T. Verceles, a hardworking and passionate school head assumed the office of the school head from December 2021 to present. She became the next mother of the Kapalasyo family. She continued the legacy of making Malacanang National High School true to its banner “Malacanang Makinang!” Several projects and activities were accomplished in a short period of time. Mrs. Verceles has proven that “basta’t sama-sama, lahat ay kayang-kaya!” as she managed to overcome the challenges she and the school encountered.
up to the present.
Malacañang National High School has 19 Junior High School teachers, 5 Senior High School teachers, 1 Utility Aide, 1 Security Aide, 1 Administrative Assistant, 1 Master Teacher, 1 Head Teacher and 1 School Head for a total of 30 staffs (Teaching and Non-Teaching).
The school’s aim to increase the enrolment is intensively monitored especially for incoming G7 and G11 learners as well with other grade levels.
