In compliance to the memorandum issued by the Department of Education re: National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill, a simultaneous earthquake drill is being done in every school in the country. Our school is privileged to participate in this very remarkable act.

Before the conduct of the earthquake drill, instructions were given to all the participants by the DRMM Coordinator Mrs. Loida C. Catuiran. The 3 D’s known as duck, cover and hold.

The drill started with the ceremonial ringing of the school alarm where the teachers following strictly the three important things during an earthquake. Participants did heir best to portray their roles especially the proper action and response during earthquakes.

The drill participants were the 8 teachers and 3 volunteers of Dalaoig E/S.

The drill lasted for 5 minutes. No untoward incident happened during the drill.

The DRMM Coordinator evaluated the drill. She said that earthquake preparedness should be taught well not just to pupils but also to the community and should be followed strictly during the drill.

Finally, it was indeed a success. Preparedness and mitigation are key strategies in reducing disaster risk.
