K-12 Program
The K to 12 Program covers Kindergarten and 12 years of basic education (six years of primary education, four years of Junior High and two years of Senir High School) to provide sufficient time to master of concepts and skills, develop lifelong learners, and prepares graduates for tertiary education, middle-level skills development, employment and entrepreneurship. This program of the government have six salient features, first is the strengthening of early childhood education , second is making the curriculum relevant to learners, third is ensuring integrated and seamless learning, fourth is building proficiency through language, fifth is gearing up for the future and last is nurturing the holistically developed Filipino.

Ø Strengthening Early childhood education:
Every Filipino child now has access to early childhood education. At 5 years old, children start schooling and are given the means to slowly adjust to formal education.
Ø Examples of activities are songs, poems, stories, and illustration are based on local culture, history, and reality.
Ø Students acquire in-dept knowledge, skills values, and attitudes through continuity and consistency across all levels and subjects.
Ø Pupils are able to learn best through their first language, their Mother Tongue which is Ilocano.
Ø Aside from Mother Tongue, English and Filipino are taught as subjects starting Grade1, with focus on oral fluency . From Grade 4 to 6, English and Filipino are gradually introduced as language of instruction.
Ø After Grade 1 every student can read in his Mother Tongue. Learning in Mother Tongue also serve as the foundation for pupils to learn Filipino and English.
