Interview Practice

Now that Nick Minich has visited Institute and discussed professional communication and networking, you will be responsible for scheduling a mock interview with the Hubbard Center between now (April 25th) and the last day ITAP Apprentices can work (May 6th).

Your tasks for the next two weeks are as follows:

1. Prepare for your interview. Outline talking points, decide on a professional outfit to wear, and construct a list of questions you would like to ask the interviewer. You may want to take advantage of courses specifically designed to help with interview preparation and strategy, but this is not required. One suggestion is this LinkedIn Learning Course.

2. Schedule an interview with Nick Minich directly. Reach out to Nick directly at nicholasminich@depauw.edu to schedule your interview before May 6th. Nick will be sharing with me which students sign up, so please make sure to complete this assignment.

3. Continue cleaning up your e-portfolio. This may look different for each student. Revisit old modules you want to expand upon or to which you would like to apply new skills, complete modules that were not finished or attempted, or polish webpages and reflections. Revisit the ITAP Institute site to make sure all requirements were met when it came to displaying or embedding each module into your e-portfolio.

• Note: Your e-portfolios can be helpful when interviewing for positions as an ITAP Associate. While these portfolios are ultimately for you, they can also be a great example of work you have completed and your organizational skills.
