Keyboarding success increases as a student’s opportunity to practice keyboarding skills increases. In today’s classroom, one-to-one computing is becoming more common. In a one-to-one environment, each student has her own laptop or tablet for personal use. It was estimated that by calendar year 2016, 54 percent of K-12 US students and teachers will have access to school-issued personal computing devices. This growing personal access to mobile computing underscores the necessity for students to master keyboarding (Molnar, 2015).
