All students have their own Denver Academy email address. You are required to configure your iPad's built-in Mail app for your DA account. Doing this will allow you to send assignments directly to your teachers from within certain apps, like Google Docs or Apple's Pages and Keynote. Instructions are below. Please do NOT set up your account as a standard Gmail account - you will not have access to the DA email directory, which is a huge help when typing recipients in your email messages. Your teacher or anyone in the IT department can help you with obtaining your log in information.
In addition to using Apple's Mail app, you can also access your DA email (and other Google prodcuts) using any web browser from any computer or mobile device by logging in at gmail.com. Logging in at the Google or Gmail website requires your complete Denver Academy email address for the username.
Using Apple's Mail app is just one way to access your email. You MUST set it up so that you can email from within certain apps such as Pages, Keynote, and Camera Roll, but you don't have to use it as your primary email client. Feel free to download Google's Gmail app if you prefer. You may also use a web browser on your iPad to read and send email just like you would do on a computer.
