“IXL is a comprehensive, standards-aligned math and language arts practice program offering unlimited problems in thousands of skills.” At Denver Academy, teachers use this assistive technology to support direct instruction and differentiation. Diagnostic assessments and tracking of specific skills and progress allow the teacher to support student growth and development in both math and language arts. Students have a subscription (paid for by the school), which allows them to access the program from any device from any location, as long as they have access to the internet, from August of the current year to August of the following year (thus, summer practice is supported). Teachers may assign specific skills for the entire class to practice and/or recommend specific skills for individual students to practice. This resource is meant to complement and support the direct instruction that takes place each day in class.
