involves reading, analyzing, and exploring texts, and engaging in sustained argumentation about race in America. You’ll be asked to consider how thesearguments relate to our sense of who we are, both as individuals and as Americans. As in Unit 3, you will first read, analyze, and discuss a number of published pieces, using the Journal in conjunction with the other course tools to help you read accurately and analytically.
The second portion of the Reading and Writing Arguments about Race in America unit will be devoted to the writing workshop process, again using your reading and discussions concerning race, documented in your Journal, to help informyour paper’s argument. You’ll continue to give pointed feedback to your peers and will, in turn, receive and weigh feedback on your own writing.
