The Library Learning Commons supports and enhances student learning, reading, writing and use of technology. Through collaborative partnerships, we provide expertise, services and resources to support South Delta Secondary School and Delta School District’s goal for innovative teaching and learner success.
We will pursue our vision by:
Recognizing the Library Learning Commons is a safe gathering place for student learning and socializing
Supporting students to develop information-seeking and research skills necessary for our information community
Fostering and encouraging, a love of learning, an appreciation for academic integrity and life-long learning
Promoting the importance of information technology by helping students to understand and use it effectively as a learning tool
Enhancing student accessibility to information and learning opportunities through the development of a range of print, audio, digital, visual and Web-based resources
Collaborating with staff to enhance student learning and improve academic performance
Serving as a resource to the South Delta Secondary School learning community in developing and assessing new learning tools, strategies, and pedagogical approaches to enrich academic experiences of all learners

We base our work on scholarship, learning from the best practices of others, and the use of knowledge and skills to develop and improve as teacher professionals.

We embrace creative ways in pursuit of our vision be being flexible, risk-takers, forward thinkers, embrace new ides and practices to vitalize out work.
Collegiality
We strive to be a diverse community in which the ideas, expertise, and perspectives of each individual are valued and respected.
Collaboration
We create opportunities to work with students, staff and teachers to enhance student learning.
Accountability
We design, develop, and deliver programs and services that are accessible, relevant and effective, and where outcomes are regularly assessed to ensure continuous improvement.
