Red Fox Program Youth Mentor Volunteer
The Delta School District is partnering with Red Fox Society to host a free, registered drop-in program after school combining circus acts, sports, and group games. Students can also try Indigenous crafts such as cedar weaving and beading. There are spots for 2-3 volunteers from grades 7-12 who can come mentor and be part of the drop in sessions. This will be a weekly event; however, if you are only available to participate on specific days, you are still welcome to join. Please contact your Indigenous Success Advocate if you are interested in volunteering for this role.
!Updated BladeRunners Embers Job Readiness Program
BladeRunners provides job readiness skills, work experience/on-the-job training, job coaching and ongoing support to help you start your career journey. Eligible participants are between 16 and 29 years old and are not attending school full time, who would appreciate support building a meaningful career, guidance choosing the right job for them, career advice and access to certifications.

ACCESS Indigenous Youth Job Club
If you are interested in getting a part-time job or work experience, ACCESS Indigenous Youth Job Club is a great way to learn valuable skills and earn certificates that will help you gain employment. This is a five day program for students in grades 10-12 (up to age 18) and by the end you will earn the following:
FoodSafe Level 1
Emergency First Aid with CPR/AED Level C
WHMIS
Customer Service
Serving It Right

!New Embers Lifeguarding Training
We are thrilled to share an incredible opportunity for youth in Surrey! In partnership with the City of Surrey, Embers are sponsoring training for two youth to participate in the City of Surrey Job Readiness Program – Aquatics Pathway, beginning September 19, 2025. This program is designed to empower youth to become certified lifeguards and develop leadership skills, opening doors to potential employment with the City of Surrey. It’s a fully supported pathway that includes mentorship, financial assistance, hands-on experience, and HR workshops to prepare participants for successful employment.
Who They’re Looking For:
Youth aged 16–18 who:
- Live in Surrey
- Are interested in pursuing lifeguard work with the City of Surrey
- May need financial support to participate in aquatic certification courses
- Are ready to commit to a structured training pathway
Program Highlights:
Aquatic Certifications: Standard First Aid, Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, Swim Instructor, and National Lifeguard (Pool Option)
Mentorship & financial support
Volunteer opportunities for practical experience
HR workshops: resume building, cover letters, and interview preparation
Connection to City of Surrey employment
