In the Practice area, I have attempted to provide different strategies to continue to work on your instrument. Different resources have been provided based on whether you are a band student, a ukulele student, or a recorder student. Only students who have an instrument available at home will be able to work with this material. Look at the DROPDOWN MENU to choose the link to your instrument.
Do your best to set up a practice routine that works for you and the others who share your home.
For many parents, home is now a workspace. Check with your parents about when would be a good time to practice your instrument.
Find a space in your home where you can play uninterrupted for 15-20 minutes each day.
Set up your practice time like a sandwich . . . Warm up with something that is familiar and feels like you can play fairly well (bottom slice of bread), then try something challenging or that you have to work on (the filling), then finish with something that feels good to play (top slice of bread).
You don't have to limit yourself to the resources I have provided. There may be some great instructional websites or videos that you can explore. The important thing is that you keep playing and enjoying yourself!
Email me if you have any questions about your instrument. Hopefully, I can answer your question, or refer you to a resource, or we can set up a one-to-one Google Meet video conference if you need some help. My email is pferguson@deltasd.bc.ca.
