"You were born with a supercomputer in your skull, you don't need to replace it with a man-made one."
Your brain thrives on boredom and starves on constant stimulation. Instead of filling your head with everyone else’s thoughts and creations, let your own manifest.
Social media is the greatest distraction of our generation, and my age group is but the very last wave of children to have experienced a low stimulation childhood.
With the exception of some, most of gen alpha and generations to come will be fundamentally different down to each neuron. With an Ipad shoved in front of them from their first steps, the world never gave them a chance to be bored.
Boredom isn't a restriction, it’s an expansion and an invitation. An expansion of your consciousness and an invitation to innovation. Having less at your disposal for entertainment makes you work harder to get dopamine, but unfortunately we’re surrounded by cheap dopamine.
Your internal reward system is designed for accomplishments, big or little. To your dopamine receptors going for a walk or exercising is an accomplishment, or finishing that assignment you thought didn’t make sense.
But shocker, being mindlessly hijacked by your devices as soon as you get free time isn’t an accomplishment. It’s you training your brain to believe that real life is not worth living.
Have the courage to put down your devices, you’ll feel the positive effects before you know it. Putting down your phone is a rebellion to the elites.
The ones who keep your mind enslaved, so that you forget your abilities as an individual. Advanced algorithmic social media feeds aren’t just entertainment, they’re evidence that powerful people know how to predict exactly what you like and what you’ll bite at.
The reason that it even works is because of us. Without the massive amount of data we provide them daily, these algorithms would cease to function. Entertainment being readily available has always come with a catch, this one is just invisible.
You were born with a supercomputer in your skull, you don’t need to replace it with a man-made one.
